Bundled up for winter...did I mention it was late August?...we met George at the docks of Lucas Lodge at 6am. We pushed off down the Rogue River and found a spot and settled in to sit...and sit...for quite awhile...which gave me the chance to see just how God Gorgeous the morning river was ...fog lifting, light seeping through the clouds, the dark ripple dancing around the boat...really ethereal for me... We even mentioned to George that if we don’t get a bite, this was all so worth it...and BAM!!! My pole starts to bob! George sprang to his feet....”you gotta bite!!”...I jumped up and held on to my pole determined not to drop it into the water! “reel it in!...let it out!! reel it in!...Let it Out!...let ‘em swim!!...”I listened as George quickly shouted out the clear instructions and all of a sudden.... There he was...the fish was boat side and George scooped him up in the net...all sixteen pounds of him! OMG! I caught a Fish! It IS addictive! I’m really looking forward to my next trip out on the Rogue!
