OUR FIRST BLOG

Well, here it is! Old Agness Store’s first Blog!
Steve and I took on the business on September 3, 2013. We cleaned and gutted the store and Steve then went on to renovate - installing new floors, beautiful knotty pine walls and a whole new front porch! In went our product line of Oregon Treasures, from an array of myrtle wood gifts and handmade soaps to one of a kind glass jewelry and handmade pottery, and up went our menu boards for Breakfast and Lunch and a cornucopia of Ice Cream Treats.

During the winter, Steve felt that fresh bread would go well with his homemade soups. His first attempt yielded a lovely plain loaf that didn’t peak anyones interest. So, he got creative and developed six flavors: Cheddar, Jalapeño Cheddar, Roasted Garlic, Sun Dried Tomato Rosemary, Bacon Onion and Cinnamon Raisin. That did it! Each week the bread sales rose as word of mouth spread!

We have been so busy this year that it has taken this long just to get the website up and running! THANK YOU! We are thrilled and shocked at the wonderful response to our work this first year out! We will be bringing more creative ideas to the store this following year to support our intention:

A destination to relax, recuperate and regenerate in a beautiful forest setting where two rivers, the Rogue and the Illinois, meet!

So, stop by for breakfast or lunch and chat with fellow travelers. Sit under the Heidelburg tree while enjoying one of our Blackberry Milkshakes and listen to local stories. Stroll through our beautiful vegetable garden that surrounds an amazing Mimosa tree or pitch some horse shoes!  You will be most welcomed!

BTW - We broke our record on Saturday, September 20, 2014 - we sold 42 loaves of bread that day!

Looking forward to seeing you soon!
